Malta

Rev. Josh Barclay
Morning Service: Paul's Ship Voyage in Acts 27 Acts 27:10-19 Who is in our boat? Acts 27:20 They are in this situation because of a decision that they made against Paul's advice. Sometime it is the decisions that we make or others around us make that creates the situation that we all have to go through. Acts 27:21 God gave Paul a revelation. A revelation is better than a reason. God will create a situation for a revelation. God will never leave us in a situation regardless of how we got there. God is waiting for the right opportunity to give us revelation of the reason we are there. Acts 27:26 God's revelation does not always clear the situation but gives us a place to land when we are in trouble. Paul found himself in a place called Malta (an unfamiliar place). A place of refuge, Malta is the place that we never thought that we would experience: relationships, jobs, places to live, etc...) After the shipwreck, Paul was bit by the snake. The people of Malta thought he (Paul) must have been a murder, but Paul shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm. When we go through things in a stuck place (Malta) we need to remember that we are not suppose to be stuck. Acts 28:1-5 Sometimes we need to look at the situation (problem) as an opportunity. Paul went to a citizen named Publius father and layed is hands on him and prayed for him and the man was healed. So after this, others on the island came and were healed. Acts 28:7-9 God turned a bad decision made by the sailors into a mission trip to heal many on the island of Malta.
